EcoFlow extra batteries for capacity expansion

An extra battery connects to the station and increases the total energy reserve in Wh. This is useful when outages last long or you need to power more devices. DELTA 2, DELTA 3 and DELTA 2 Max support capacity expansion. RIVER 3 cannot be expanded, while RIVER 3 Plus has the EB300 and EB600 batteries.

How to choose an extra battery

The main thing is compatibility with the station. Here are the batteries in the catalogue and the stations they fit, according to the product pages:

• Work out the run time you need: multiply the power consumption of the devices in W by the hours of operation and compare it with the total capacity in Wh.
• Consider the weight and storage space. The battery takes up additional space next to the station.
• A connecting cable is included with DELTA 3, DELTA 2 Max, DELTA 3 Max Plus and DELTA Pro 3 Smart Extra Battery. EB300 and EB600 sit under the station and connect through contacts without a cable.

Why expand the capacity

DELTA 2 has 1024 Wh, DELTA 2 Max has 2048 Wh. An extra battery increases this capacity. Example: a 150 W fridge runs from 1024 Wh for about 6 hours. With another 1024 Wh battery the total capacity is 2048 Wh, and the same fridge will run roughly twice as long.

Compatibility and charging

Yes, a station with an extra battery charges from the mains and from solar panels. Speed depends on the power of the panels and conditions.
